NHL HOCKEY
Introduction:
NHL stands for National Hockey League, which is a kind of professional league of Ice Hockey comprising 30 teams placed in North America. NHL Hockey enjoys the status of supreme professional league of ice hockey, throughout the world. It is the key professional league sports in North America. The division of NHL is based on 2 teams of 15 players each, which is further bifurcated into 3 teams of 5 players in both of them.
Evolution of NHL:
The National Hockey League was constituted in the year 1917, in Quebec, Montreal and Canada on 4 teams, which were subsequent to several contractions, relocations and expansions. The NHL presently is compiled from thirty teams. Out of which 24 teams are placed in U.S and remaining 6 are placed in Canada. The sport was originally conceived in the state of Canada and hence, they constitute a major portion of the NHL players. The past few years have seen a considerable increase in the number of European and American players, due to NHL’s constant effort to expand in the U.S. The effort of NHL to include European players is largely due to their good quality play and their ability to outperform other leagues. However, still about half of NHL player’s as per the roster are from Canada.

NHL sport is played on hockey ring, that is a rectangular structure ice ring having rounded corners that is surronded by walls. The measurement of NHL ring is 85 by 200 ft, on the other hand, international standard varies by measuring around 60 to 61 metres.
