HOCKEY HALL OF FAME
Introduction:
Hockey Hall of Fame located in Ontario, Toronto and Canada, which is devoted to the Ice Hockey history with display featuring NHL and memorabilia trophies, that includes the Stanley Cup with interactive activities. The Hall of Fame of Hockey was founded in 1961, originally situated at Exhibition Place. Every Year various retired players, builders and coaches are induced and honored with special ceremonies. Entrance to the Hall of Fame was made free to the public till 1980, while the facilities have undergone expansion.
Foundation of Hall of Fame:
Hockey Hall of Fame opened on August 26, 1961, on the foundation of Exhibition Place. Bobby Hewitson was the initial curator to the original Hall of Fame. After his retirement, Lefty Reis was assigned in 1967. Their both commitment and vision was to acquire, preserve and document everything associated to the hockey, made the Hall of Fame a remarkable foundation. This encouraged in establishing a stronger position in the future Years. In 1992, location and the direction were searched. The man selected to control the Hall of fame on a new path was earlier referee of NHL, Scotty Morrison. The new location in Yonge located in Toronto gave rise to huge success. The Hockey game gained more audience and was exposed on a larger international level. These factors contributed the Hall of Fame to get a pristine success.
Miscellaneous:
The Hall of fame for Hockey is presently led by the CEO and Chairman Bill Hay, a former Hockey player of Chicago Blackhawk’s and earlier CEO of Calgary Flames. Originally, the Hockey Canada and NHL supported the Hockey Hall of Fame.
